Service Description

The "Secret Weapon" for Successful Resolutions High-conflict disputes are often derailed before the first opening statement is even made. When parties arrive at the table in an "adversarial loop"—triggered, reactive, or psychologically unprepared—the legal strategy stalls, costs skyrocket, and settlements fail. What is Pre-Mediation Coaching? As a PhD in Psychology and a GODR-Registered Mediator, I provide a specialized 1-on-1 stabilization service designed to prepare clients for the rigors of the mediation process. This is not therapy; it is strategic preparation. I work with your client to: De-escalate the "Human Element": We identify emotional triggers that typically cause "shutdowns" or aggressive outbursts during sessions. Clarify Objectives: I help the client separate their emotional grievances from their practical goals, ensuring they arrive ready to make sound business and legal decisions. Manage Expectations: We walk through the mediation flow so the client feels a sense of agency and safety, reducing the "fight-or-flight" response that blocks compromise. Develop Communication Tools: I provide specific techniques for staying "regulated" when hearing difficult information from the opposing party. Why Attorneys Recommend This Service: For legal professionals, a "coached" client is a manageable client. By investing in a pre-mediation session, you ensure that your client: Remains composed during high-stakes negotiations. Focuses on the law and the future, rather than the past. Respects the process, leading to higher settlement rates and fewer "impasse" outcomes. Format & Logistics: Duration: 60-minute intensive session. Delivery: Private, secure 1-on-1 video conference. Outcome: A client who is psychologically "primed" to move from conflict to resolution. Note: This service is available as a standalone prep or can be bundled with our mediation services.
